Have Your Say

All window installers have a "duty of care" under health and safety legislation to ensure the design of the window they have installed is suitable for its purpose. But, how many realise exactly what this responsibility entails?

Similarly the window manufacturer has an obligation to provide a product which in all its functions is safe to operate. Failure to do so could have very serious consequences for all parties concerned.

The necessity for all building products to meet predetermined standards of functionality and safety is not an optional extra but a statutory requirement.

Whether we like it or not in England and Wales all window installations are subject to Building Regulations and window hardware plays an important part in ensuring compliance.

In Scotland and Northern Ireland the rules may vary slightly but the aims of safety and risk reduction are shared.
