Securistyle First Hardware Company to Attain BM TRADA Q-Mark Certification

Securistyle, the leader in quality, innovative hardware for the window and door industries, is pleased to announce that it has become the first hardware company in the UK window industry to achieve BM TRADA Q-Mark certification for ‘Hardware for use in General and Enhanced Security Fenestration Products’. Grant Stratford, Technical Manager at Securistyle, comments: “We wanted to achieve this certification for the Defender Door Lock because BM TRADA Q-Mark is synonymous with the accreditation of high performance doors and windows. The scheme audits Securistyle, our manufacturing processes and the product itself. We already offer our Defender Door Lock customers a product that is manufactured to IS0 9001 and meets the requirements of the PAS 23 & 24 test standards, but these standards don’t audit the actual product on an ongoing basis.  BM TRADA Q-Mark does just that and includes a product audit each year by an independent assessor.”

He continued, “BM TRADA offers  Q-Mark certification for ‘Hardware for use in General and Enhanced Security Fenestration Products’ because, while products are made to various performance standards, more and more companies want evidence from a reliable, independent source to confirm that the product has been properly tested and appraised and is manufactured to a consistent high standard. The Defender Door Lock is a fantastic opportunity for fabricators to differentiate themselves from their competitors, with the Secure Escape mode activated - the door can be secure from the outside, to PAS 24 requirements, with the inside of the door set to allow easy escape in the event of a fire.
