Securistyle obtain Environmental Product Declaration

Securistyle is obtaining Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) across its range of commercial window hardware solutions.

This will provide customers with a range of products fully supported with EPD documentation, making Securistyle the first hardware manufacturer in the UK who has product-specific EPD’s for its entire commercial window hardware offering.

Grant Stratford, Technical Director for Securistyle, comments: “Having already gained an EPD for our Parallel range, we are currently securing further EPDs for our Sterling and Storm hinges, Sterling lock, and commercial restrictors. Having each individual product EPD certified reinforces Securistyle’s position as a leader in environmentally sound window hardware solutions.

“EPDs also offer a major benefit in contributing towards LEED and BREEAM compliance. This is already a pre-requisite for new buildings in Europe and America, and is growing increasingly important in emerging markets such as China.”

The Environmental Product Declaration is an independently verified and registered document that communicates transparent information about the environmental impact of a product. The declaration provides environmental information on the product and the manufacturing processes involved, including the environmental implications of the raw material used, energy efficiency, transportation impact and waste generation.
